While Frolik could be helpful, Calgary isn't trading him for that package and Tampa can't afford his cap hit of 4.3. Perhaps at the trade deadline Tampa can make a move for someone like Frolik(although I'd prefer they target Kreider at that time), but for now the math doesn't work. Domingue is buried in cap calculations already, so trading him opens only 75k more to the 9.38 Tampa has. Trading Erne saves them a million he would have taken. They have 8 max for Point, as Brisebois will keep 1.36 open for performance bonuses as it simply can't roll over to next year given the even tougher cap situation then. In actuality, Point is being allotted 7 or so because dropping Witkowski to Syracuse is adding 700k, but then 2 forward slots will be taken by Syracuse players, thereby taking a total of ~800k additional from cap space. 7.25 is around all they will have for Point on a 3 year bridge. The best option to free more cap would be to trade Rutta to free 1.3 or bury him in Syracuse and save an extra 1.075 I believe. This only saves 300k to 500k though, as then another forward or d slot has to be taken by an elc player to fill the 23 man roster. However if Point won't take less than 8, like say an 8x5 type deal, that could help facilitate it.
