Would you do a Hall for Laine swap if you thought Hall isn't resigning

If its a sign and trade for Hall possibly but I think still unlikely if Im Winnipeg because of age difference and Hall's injury history

curious as well. Laine is enticing, but I'm not certain I want to see the package we'd send for him

According to sources, the Winnipeg Jets have held internal discussions about trading Laine to the eastern conference. While the team is set on choosing Kyle Connor over Laine, they continue to work the phones on what type of return Laine could pull in.

New Jersey, Columbus and Detroit have all called Winnipeg inquiring about Laine's services. The Jets would be looking for an NHL defenseman, and NHL ready top prospect.

I would prefer trading Vatanen over Severson, especially if we could get a sign and trade going with Vat. But say Vatanen does replace Severson in the trade, I think a 2nd maybe even 1st would have to be attached.

I'm in for that for sure, only hesitation is we need some recent draftees playing on the big club defense to sign laine, hall, nico, and jack lol

Walsh is a possibility to make the jump next year, as a RHD he could be on the 3rd pairing behind Subban and Severson. Leaving Butcher, Smith and Mueller/Carrick to fill the last LHD role

I also expect Simmonds to be a one and done this year. So having both him and Greene off the books this year will alleviate cap space

What about a Vatanen, Bratt and lower tier prospect like Fabian Zetterlund? I would be hesitant to give up a 1st unless it's lottery protected.

Too much...Severson + Boqvist would probably get it done.

Hall and Laine played the same number of games this past season... if by played, you mean "showed up to play."

Joking aside, yes, Hall's value isn't high enough to warrant a big, 21 year old sniper in return until he is proven to be 100% healthy again

I don't think it does. I wouldn't say yes to that trade as the Jets.
