Initial Creation Date: Aug. 19, 2019
Published: Aug. 19, 2019
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
His numbers when given the playing time slot him as an average 3C, over 50% in the dot and on the right side possession wise compared to the rest of the team.

I think of the Center FA's left (Brassard, Boyle, Sheahan etc.), he will return the best performance for cost at the moment since he was sort of lost in the shuffle of high caliber forwards in vegas, and then a small piece of the Stone deal.

Nothing to write home about, but I think it solidifies the 3C enough to have a decent 3rd line. If not a contract, I would love to see a PTO.

I think Sheahan would be the Oilers best bet for the 3C job but no cap space.

With the roster as it currently stands, if Manning, Brodziak and Cave are sent to Bakersfield the Oil have about 3.6 mil at a 22 man roster with the 23rd spot open to a 3C signing. So pretty sure they'd be comfortable signing any 3C at 2 mil or less. Do you really think Sheahan will command more than 2 mil at this point?

That is exactly how I would have the lines But Archibald might move up to 3rd line, I think he will surprise a lot of people!

I really have no idea what Sheahan is gonna sign for.
Do you really think the Oilers will send Brodziak down?

I mean if he has a good camp then maybe not, but he is only a 75k hit when sent down so if they feel like he isn't showing better than Haas/Gagner at center, then yes I think there might be interest in replacing him with a C who brings more speed and offense. Brodz is definitely no more than a 4C at this point and he may not be the best one the Oil have.

Yeah he(Brodziak) just seems like one of those vet guys they'd be reluctant to demote.
Will be interesting to see what the Oilers do, to me he seems like a prime guy to send the other way in getting a good player from a team who needs to shed salary cause as you said he's only a $75K cap hit if sent down, Brodziak and a 3rd for Namestnikov makes a lot of sense for the Oilers and Rangers imo.

Its all about speed with Holland, he wants a faster bottom 6 which really spells the end for Brodziak. Oilers have a ton of options for #4C especially if they sign a #3C like Lindberg/Sheahan. Khiara, Granlund, Cave, Haas, and Gagner are all options
