I feel like Ottawa is starting to round out their D corps for the future in terms of prospects with Chabot, Brännström, Bernard-Docker, Thomson and Lajoie. So I'm not sure if they want to take Merkley. Meanwhile, White and Brown are two of their best center prospects as of right now (with Batherson and Norris rising) and they are both set to be the future down the middle for the Sens. So I don't this trade would happen.

I have no idea how I feel about this trade

I’d put Batherson above Brown in value, and Merkley although another D man, makes this teams D corps immensely scary.
Chabot - Brann
Docker - Merkley
Thompson - lajoie

Or even put Merkley being maybe offensively strong as brann but not overall on par, allowin Chabot - Merk and Docker - Brann giving Ottawa possibly the best future top 4 in the league. But yes Ottawa is loaded with prospect but I don’t see any of them moving as much as I see brown moving, bu white is a tough call. I’d love this as a fan of either team I just don’t know if it works

I dont like this deal. The sharks dont really need a center prospect, and Merkley is at his lowest possible value right now, so it would be a waste to trade him.
