I don't know if you'd get one of Kap or Johnsson for that offer. Risto doesn't have a tonne of value right now, he isn't worth losing 2/3rds of a potentially dominant 3rd line in TO. Especially since Risto is likely to play on the 3rd pair in TO due to how bad defensively he is. He probably wouldn't even get PP time which would cut his points in half and you're left with a defensively inept puck mover that doesn't score much at 5v5.

Doesn't really help the Leafs cap much. Doubt if the Leaf want to trade two NHL wingers with Hyman injured and Marner not signed.
Oloffssson is interesting. Had a fine AHL season. At age 24 why didn't the Sabres play him some games in the NHL to see if he was NHL good?

Botterill is trying to show patience since we have been absolutely rotten with rushing players. He did rush thompson, who didnt look like an nhl player, and mittelstadt, who was pressed into an extended role due to trading ror and replacing him with a couple guys that owned their own skates. Olofsson and pilut are two guys you might not be familiar with- olofsson was a late round murray pick who won the swedish league goal title 2 years ago. Rocket shot, i think the knock when he was drafted was skating, but i havent heard it mentioned since he came over. Probably just making sure hes used to the smaller ice, more physical play, and not just throwing him to the wolves.

Idk bout you but...kinda would have been hard for the sabres wouldn't it have been? I mean they signed him last year, he played 60 games in the AHL and 6 NHL + some playoff games.

Thanks Bud, I didn't see those 6 Sabres games...2 g, 2, impressive. Being good in the AHL isn't necessarily any indication of NHL proficiency. What boost to the Sabres if they can add a good efficient winger.

The sabres have 2 efficient offensive wingers from last year RH and Skinner. They really need him to step up along with Tage Thompson.

Also I forgot but he had 27 goals in the SHL in 50 games which is pretty impressive for that league! That's 4 more than this year's top scorer
