Why DSP? You'd rather lose Verhaeghe on waivers?

I mean, given that we have $300k of cap space available here with a 21 player roster (and $1.3m of performance bonuses to pay and absolutely no room for overages next year), he’s not getting that, barring a major trade. How could you possibly justify paying him more than Kucherov and Vasilevskiy? Point honestly isn’t as valuable as Stamkos and I don’t understand why he would get comparable money without comparable term. He’s probably getting bridged and that should bring the AAV below $8m.

Point not as valuable as Stamkos? .. just stop posting.. a 22 year old all star with a great 2 way game compared with a 30 year old aging injury prone playoff choker with worst plus minus on team and negative which is almost impossible on Tampa .. You should type less and watch more what is happening on ice .. Stamkos is a RW now living off his past reputation.. other than PP which he is lethal on the one timer

As for what he gets .. the MARKET will determine that not past team mate contracts.. Point is now WAY ahead of where Kuch was 3 years ago .. the Marner domino is intriguing and could cause Point to sit out .. then it will be interesting how team does ..
