I’d also make the argument that WPG does this with all the cap relief they get. Get a solid 2nd C and solid D man + a big amount of cap space

Don't shoot the messenger here, but I've heard rumblings that the Jets have spoken with the AGM of the Wild and there have been discussions about Laine for Dumba straight up. Of course, this would not get done until they hire a GM.

Roope hintz a solid 2 center ?? The guy add good playoff and he turns into the next great one. Please guys he might be good some day but it’s very premature to say he is a solid number 2. He got potential sure but laine as already 100 more goal than he did both are same age

From my people in the industry. It doesn't matter where I got it, I am just throwing out there what's at least been discussed.

100% reliable that the deal has been discussed, but like I said, it's not gone further that that. The Wild, as I am sure you are aware, are a bit of a mess at the moment. In any event, I assume both Jets fans and Wild fans will be unhappy with this Laine for Dumba discussion anyway.

There is also the issue of both teams playing in the same division, but Jets, as you can imagine, love Dumba. You mean Braydon Point? Unless you are a close personal friend of his, I doubt you'd get much of anything, both sides aren't saying a word, which is something I definitely respect. All I know is that Point refused to speak to Marc Bergevin, when he called his agent this summer haha.

No im not a close friend of his, which sucks, but I got eyes and ears. Dumba could sorta be a trouba replacement, but I think wild are on the Tankville Train

As far as I am aware, Point wants a max term deal, as do the Lightning, it's just coming up with a number that works for everyone. He wants to stay in Tampa, that much is crystal clear. Wild owner does not want to rebuild, which is why bringing in Ron Hextall might be a bit of an issue, since Hextall has asked for a few years to "refuel" so to speak. Wild wanted Francis, but oh well for that.
