Can't really compare Danault + Suzuki to Dach. It seems more like the classic quantity vs quality...despite it only being 2 players vs 1. I really do like Danault AND that trade for Danault to go to MTL will go down as one of Stan's worst trades ever, but I can't see CHI doing this whole trade for Dach alone let alone add Beaudin to be perfectly honest. I'm not suggesting MTL should do it either, but if you think you have a #1C (which Stan clearly does this about Dach) then you don't trade him for anything reasonable. No I don't think Suzuki will ever be a true #1C. He can be a #2C...which isn't bad AT ALL!
if you're just looking to land Dach
Suzuki and a top 10 protected 1st for Dach should do it
Dach is good But Suzuki out scored him in the post season by 5 times his total to lead the entire CHL
Dach's not a polished NHL ready 3rd overall pick , he's a Strome , Bennet Reinhart who needed an extra season in junior and took time to develop into NHL regulars
Suzuki follows a similar path to the one Marner did after his draft but to a slightly lesser degree
Marner out played Suzuki in his 3 regular OHL seasons , but in that same time line Suzuki out produced Marner by 8 points in the playoffs
Marner won the Memorial Cup .Suzuki fell short when Nicks new team didnt have the depth scoring support eliminated 2nd in the mem cup tourny
they train together in the summer and both working with the same skating coach as they were both accused of not being quick enough .
the 1st is in recognition that Dach is a true Center Prospect dominant in the faceoff circle .
Suzuki's the better player but he's a winger who can play Center similar to Marner he's best off left to skate rather then play QB at center position.
that being said CHI giving up Dach when they need a young center so bad is like MTL giving up Kotkanemi , overpayment would be needed .
