As an Isles fan, I don't know much about Fabbri... but just from the looks of it that package is nowhere near enough to get Leddy. An overpaid, average 3C and a prospect who hasn't done much in the NHL isn't going to cut it to obtain a Top 4 LHD, with excellent skating, who can move the puck out of the zone and give you 40+ points a season.

I feel STL could be a good fit, as it seems they need a LHD in the Top 4 and I'm not sure what the package would be to get Leddy (Don't know enough about STL system) but this is not it.

Then I can see Fabbri being switched for someone better to get that done.

In my opinion, you'd have to switch out both players for better options. Neither is an enticing option for someone like Leddy. Bozak, while he fills the 3C spot is signed for too much and too long for what the Isles are looking for, plus he's just not that good.

Leddy and Bozak have like the exact same contract

Yes, but Leddy is far better at what he does than Bozak is. Besides, the Isles have a Center in the AHL that should be ready later this year (or next season) to take over the 3C spot. If the Isles bring in a 3C it'll be someone on a 1 year deal. Not to mention the fact that the Isles aren't trading a Top 4 LHD for a 3rd line center... that's a massive under value for Leddy, who is worth SO much more.

Yes, Bozak's contract is a bit steep, but the idea that he's not good is silly. He's a strong character/system guy who is solid in pretty much every area of the game and is good for .5 points per game.

This is just his agent attempting to gain what little amount of leverage his client has. Barbs is a clear NHLer who will end up playing for an NHL team next year. Just not sure which team at this point.

That's fine and all, but the Isles don't need another 3rd liner (which is where he will play for us) making 5m per season, we have enough of those already. Also, it's not the package you get back for a player like Leddy, who is a Top 4 LHD with excellent skating ability and can put up 40+ points a season.

I didn't say this trade would be good for the Isles, only that the idea of Bozek as "just not that good" is way off.
