    T. Hall gets 13 million AAV as an UFA, based on Panarin getting 11.7 AAV.

I still maintain that if we were to entertain the idea of trading Marner...why not trade him to a team like Minny for a RHD like Dumba? We would then be able to pursue someone like Hall in FA if Kyle saw fit.

True...but he could be willing to take less to go to a team that gives him a better chance to win like Duchene did.

For a guy who has only played in the playoffs just once, I'd say he is used too and enjoys golfing every spring.

I think he's used to it and enjoys it like you said, however, I think he would enjoy playing playoff hockey even more.

Really? I don't know if you have a need for Vatanen but I thought this trade was heavily lopsided in the Isles favor aside from the second rounder. Dal Colle would not make the devils this year. He is likely a fringe player on either the Devils or Isles for the forseeable future, and his waiver exemption is coming to an end.

Isles are trying to trade defenseman, not add. They had the #1 ranked defense last season and their best prospect Noah Dobson will be on the roster this season. Dal Colle is not the player many projected him to be , but he is a good bottom 6 player. He led the team in the ca/60 (shots against per 60 min) and he's a good forechecker. He was a ppg player in the AHL last season ( I know, it doesn't always translate) but in the games he played for the islanders he looked great defensively.
