Rantanen will depend on Marner, not the opposite

Marner won't be signing until after the season starts. Do you think all the other RFA's are going to wait until that day? I certainly don't think that's going to happen. One of Point, Rantanen, Laine, or Connor will sign before then and then the market is set and Marner is going to have to play fair. And if Ferris still doesn't want to do that after that happens, then trade him cause he's a problem.

It would be nice if one of the other RFA's signed and set the market. However, even if Rantanen signed for that, I don't see Marner going 8 years with that AAV. I still think he signs for either 3 or 6 years (hopefully it's 6).

Logan Olliver is correct. A big name RFA will sign and the most of the others will follow. But if Marner is still not signed in September/October/November, a trade may not be possible. Who has the cap for his Ferris demands?

Sadly I don’t think they go 8 years. They didn’t with Mack they didn’t with Girard, I think they don’t like going 8 years for some strange reason, maybe to keep the aav down slightly?
