Bowen byram won’t go anywhere unless the return is absolutely undeniable.

And why Pittsburgh do that trade to Pittsburgh cup window will close in three or 4 years after that a rebuilt will likely be the only option because Pittsburgh doesn’t have prospect coming in that will have a great impact. They have too keep letang and rutherford will add small pieces to fill hole in the roster like he have done last few year

because johnson is almost as good as letang. probably equal if you factor in letang getting injured. so now you are adding a 2nd line center and the 4th pick this year for a bag of crap. thats why pitt does it. but i just dont see why the avs get a load of crap and an often injured defenseman back.

Letangs for you is equal to johnson ???????? ok that isn’t goiing to be pretty. You don’t seem to know but johnson actually never played a full 82 game season. He played 717 out of a possible 930 and as for letang its 747 out of 1000 games so injuries ratio is very similar But ice time, points, playoff game, 2 stanley cup ring, this is one of the dumbest comments ive seen here i dont know if your where joking or messing aroung but if you think that for real you should start to look out for new hobbies

murray carried both those teams. just because letang was literally their only capable defender for a while he had to play 25+ minutes. obviously the more time on ice the more points you should get. direct correlation. EJ hasnt been on a team with crosby and malkin carrying him for 10+ years. letang is better offensively but ej is better defensively.

how many crap teams has johnson been on in his career vs what letang has been on? kind of goes hand in hand dont you think? better the team better the odds of scoring and getting awards? worse the team worse the odds? directly correlates.

You know what is correlates. Great players make a team great. Yes he played with crosby and malkin. But johnson ad played with duchenes, landeskog, mackinon, o’reilly these are pretty good players that should boost is stats.

Johnson is a good defender this isn’t what i’m telling you. I’m just saying that he isn’t a elite level defenseman, and comparing him with letangs isn’t right. He is good defender but he is more a ryan ellis, jay bouwmeester ( in is prime) tj brodie, jonas brodin, brett pesce, seabrook range. Letang have proven he is elite he is solid in is zone and got a real good
Offensive instinct.

First the fact that you are comparing crosby and malkin who are both STILL 100 point players to RoR, Landeskog, and Duchene says all i need to know about your player evaluations. Second Mack might be close to crosby and malkin but there isnt another crosby or malkin on this team. 3rd. they needed murray to absolutely stand on his head and have phil kessel drive that team to win multiple stanley cups. Hockey truly is a team sport. That being said. Those ave's teams from 2010 to recently have SUCKED. Milan hedjuk was still on the team when Johnson made his debut. As i said earlier Letang is way better offensively, but johnson is way better defensively. And yes ive seen enough of letang on defense that he is mediocre at best in his own zone. he can drive the play and move the puck out of his own zone but actual defense? no.
On your second paragraph. Bouwmeester in his prime was a shut down defenseman. I think ryan ellis is one of the most underrated 2 way defensemen in the league. but neither of those guys should be mentioned with tj brodie jonas brodin and brett pesce. Seabrook in his prime was great too but how much of that was seabrook and how much of that was the rest of the team?
