You'd have to drug Ken Holland for him to agree to that trade though

Tatar-McDavid-Neal
Lehkonen-Draisaitl-Chiasson

Top 6 is better without RNH IMO

Why?
The Oilers get two solid wingers, Tatar makes less money and has the same amount of term left as RNH. Lehkonen is a solid middle 6 winger who'd probably play in the Oilers top 6 given how bad their winger stock is and he's an RFA after his contract ends so the Oilers control him for awhile and Juulsen is a former 1st round pick who's a good right shot defense prospect who could probably play for the Oilers this season. Really this is pretty decent for the Oilers, I'm not sure how much better they'd get if they were willing to trade RNH.

I didn’t know that them being great friends would cause Minnesota’s GM to make a terrible trade for the sake of getting them together

That's not a terrible trade for MIN considering the fact Kaprizov doesn't seems to like MIN/doesn't want to play for them

According to who? If it’s true then I guess it’s not bad but if not then it’s a bad trade because Minnesota is rebuilding. No point in trading their best prospect

I agreed this trade is really bad for
Minnesota thay already are a old team. But with the comment that the owner made they are willing to trade prospect to get the chance to win now. I don’t know how they will do that but is they trade kaprizov the return would need to be better than nugent hopkins alone

Kaprizov felt disrespected by Fletcher not seeming interested in him as an important prospect until after he started to shine in the KHL, which is why he signed an extension with his KHL team. The Wild have since gone out of their way to make him know how much they look forward to him playing for them, including their owner writing him a letter in Russian and Fenton making a trip to Russia to have dinner with him. His agent says he'll be over when his deal expires April 30th, 2020. This is all info readily available that Michael Russo has reported on.

Lehkonen isn't a top 6 winger. Benson or Nygard are way more suited/likely to be in the top 6 on the left side. I'd rather have Nuge than those 3. He can play 2C, drive the play, is great defensively, and is just a much better player than Tatar. I like Tatar, but why take that risk, he didn't mesh well with Vegas, who knows if he'd be as successful in Edmonton as he was in Montreal. Nuge is too valuable

RNH has only two years left on his contract, Kaprizov would have at least 3 and then more. If RNH doesn't re-sign, which is more than likely considering that MIN is due to rebuild sooner or later, they're gonna be absolutely screwed.

There's also some other controversial points... Frankly I don't see Holland trading RNH for that return, and also the fact that there's some controversial history between Claude Julien and how he coaches Russian players... Didn't Scherbak make some comments about the organisation as well?

If they're great friends, how about a counter offer of Brodin for Romanov and Montreal's 2020 3rd round pick?

I'm pretty sure Kaprizov's ELC will be 2 years since he'll be 23 if (when) he signs next offseason, but your point still stands.

If we did get RNH why would you trade him? I'd sooner have him on the team!

Romanov + Alzner vs Brodin 2020 1st Montréal might accept

You're out of your mind if you think a "maybe" 2nd pairing D prospect and one of the worst contracts in the league is worth a 2nd pairing D and a lottery pick.

Even if I agreed with that (which I don't), your proposed trade of Brodin and a lottery 1st for Romanov and Alzner is still ludicrous.

That’s the cost of Romanov ( the trade is super not fair ), Romanov isn’t getting trade
