VGK decline? They won't have to sign Puljujarvi anyways

And Smith-Stone-Tuch is set on the right side so no reason to acquire Puljujarvi
Same for Gagner as if it's not Eakin, Cody Glass is probably gonna play 3C so they don't need Gagner at all (and his $3,15M cap hit).

As a fan I agree, Eakin is fantastic and while the contract isn't fantastic he's much better for the team than what they could get for trading him. Especially a worse version of him and another forward that won't make it.
