Description
Fischer and Wennberg can both help us long term while trying to re-start their career's in MTL's system that compliments their playing style .

Fischer and Wennberg are buy low scenario's in situations where their GM's wouldnt mind moving them out at the right price .

CBJ could use a Faceoff Center as Dominant as Danault who's in his mid 20's coming off a top 10 finish in faceoffs taken and wins total this year and can help the Streaky CBJ down the middle .

Tatar adds speed , consistent goal scoring ,PP production and leadership to ARZ . He's a good option for Kessel or Keller to play wing with .

Both Expansion teams have been making moves in the last year towards becoming regular playoff participants and are trending up with youth that hasnt been key in the new direction of their teams .

Wennberg's overpayed and declining in CBJ 2 seasons + now and Fischer's been on a nose dive since new GM took over same as Domi was when he was here .

take them both while getting picks in exchange for moving out our UFA's in 2020 with 2 years term still in place during their prime years .

Every Line has a Winger who can skate in and take Faceoffs when they struggle . 4th line has Rask and Thompson rotating in to handle 4th line match ups . (more gritty the team , Thompson . the more skilled the team , Rask but both win faceoffs at a similar rate and both add size )

Lehkonen-Rask-Armia allows us the luxury to play them top 9 during games where ther Poehling or Suzuki are having match up issues . (this allows us flexibility without line jugglling like Michel Therrien was famous for )

MTL hopes to use its 3 picks to trade up for a top 3 pick overall in hopes Lefreniere falls out of the top 2 on draft day . Which is possible given the Terror Twins success leading them to both be ranked top 5 for this years draft it comes from eachother doin well . (similar to Yakupuv/Galchenyuk and Mckinnon/Drouin when 1 succeeded the other's draft ranking did as well . )

Stocked for Today , Stock Piled picks for Tomorrow .
Trades
1.
MTL
  1. Wennberg, Alexander
  2. 2020 1st round pick (CBJ)
  3. 2022 2nd round pick (CBJ)
Additional Details:
-CBJ gets a Cheaper Center who's a consistent producer and a top 10 faceoff center in the NHL in both Faceoffs Taken and Won last year with 2 years term remaining at 3m cap
CBJ
  1. Danault, Phillip
  2. 2020 2nd round pick (MTL)
Additional Details:
-Conditional 2nd in 2022 becomes a 1st if Danault re-signs with CBJ

MTL swaps 2nds with CBJ a 2020 for a 2022 pick.

They're getting their 2022 2nd two years early on top of getting Danault so they're not giving up 2 picks unless Danault's re-signed
2.
MTL
  1. Capobianco, Kyle
  2. Fischer, Christian
  3. 2020 1st round pick (ARI)
Additional Details:
- 1st is top 10 protected

-22 year old RW and LD prospects . (CF is in a similar position to Domi last year and KC is in a similar situation to Kulak last year )
ARI
  1. Tatar, Tomas ($2,000,000 retained)
Additional Details:
Tatar at 2.8m cap for 2 years but more importantly MTL pays 2m off his salary for the next 2 years . (if nothing else it save the league money as they pay ARZ operations costs yearly )

Tatar is the perfect winger to play with Keller while Dvorak plays with Kessel . both are Veteran PP players who can help mentor the youth while putting up points along side them .
3.
MTL
  1. Rask, Victor
  2. 2020 5th round pick (MIN)
Additional Details:
Rask saves MIN 2.6m bucks swapping out a Center for a winger who can win faceoffs being the main motivation

MIN gives up a 5th to clear cap and get a better player today.
MIN
  1. Weal, Jordan
Additional Details:
MTL's main motivation is trying to take a 26 year old 6'2 Swede and make him the 20 + goal scorer he was in his Sophmore year before the 3 straight seasons of decline to single digit production for 4m cap with 3 years term left.

IF MTL can turn Rask back into a goal scoring center we can retain on him and flip him for a much higher profit then we'd have gotten from Weal today , That's assuming we can return him to his former Goal scoring self .

even if they've not Wennberg is a contract i see CBJ fans constantly moving out similar to how fans of the Habs do to Drouin now and Shaw / Eller in years past .
his Cap vs production hasnt been up to snuff but i think its just situational and that he could at bare minimum help Kotkanemi/Poehling on wing with faceoffs like Shaw helped Domi,Danault and Drouin.
besides long term having Wennberg-Poehling-Caufield on 2nd line by 2021-22 or 2022-23 just sounds like a lot of Goals being scored .

never count Torterlla out
he's a jack ass but if he gets the right types of players he thrives
whether it Stillman in TBL or Henrik Sedin in VAN he usually leans heavily on Locker Room leaders who are complete 2 way players to lead by example .
in CBJ he chose Foligno for some reason but i think if you offered him a Danault he'd jump at the Chance

if CBJ can turn a few Wennbergs into Danaults they might be a contender
their Goaltending could use a veteran back up even if its just a Cam Ward type to help JK prepare for his first 30+ game season
ideally CBJ if they were smart would trade for OTT Craig Anderson who's 38 still starting 50+ games with solid numbers which would greatly help Korpisalo shoulder the burden.
OTT in no way a playoff and Anderson will turn 39 just before the playoffs on his final year of his Contract it would make perfect sense to OTT to make a deal with a team like CBJ with great Defensive core depth at the NHL and AHL level plus a solid forward crew with youth ready to step in

Losing Bobo and Panarin hurt hard but honestly with CBJ Defensive Core there is a lot of Goalies who could step in and thrive there especially Halak who's now a Back up .
