We're a 3C away from being as good if not better than last year. If we sign Boyle, Brassard, Lindberg, or Sheahan, or trade for Eakin, Pageau, Gagner, or one of BUFs centers (Girgensons, Larsson, Sobotka). Even Tim Schaller would be alright. I'd also trade for a winger like Frolik or Boedker if they believe MDC should be an extra forward.

Just a couple of minor tweaks and we're set to be a strong team this year.

I tweaked the defense a bit. Wahlstrom has a good chance to be on a scoring line like I put him on. If he plays center, I would go for Frolik on the third line with him.

Due to cap issues, Bjugstad could be moved by Pittsburg. I think NYI could be a good spot for him. A 2nd pick might be the cost.

Strome is an other 3rd center that could be moved by NYR too, but returning to NYI seems less likely.

Another year of exceptional goaltending would also be helpful

The defense should stay the same as last year, unless Dobson destroys camp and they have no choice but to keep him in the NHL.

Pelech-Pulock
Leddy-Boychuk
Toews-Mayfield
Hickey

Leddy (and Hickey) are traded next year and Dobson has a regular spot in 2020-21.

Yes, but I'm confident Varlamov can be as good as Lehner. Our goalie coaches are the best in the NHL. If Varlamov can play at his .915 average, I think we're in good shape.

I don't think we'd be interested in Bjugstad when we have a cap crunch next year. Can't pay Bjugstad $4.1M.

Strome would be fun to bring back but yeah, we're not trading with the Rangers.

No thanks. Barbashev is going to be a little too costly when we need to re-sign our guys next off-season. Also Wilde looks great, he can be moved for someone better than Barbashev.

There will be injuries on the roster and I´m thinking there´s a good chance Dobson makes the team. I could even see Aho making the roster instead of Hickey. Defense and goalies won´t be a problem this year.

Barbashev is only projected to get like $2M this year and he has upside. He was forced to play on the 4th line last year because every line was clicking. I think he would be a pretty good, affordable 3C. You have Pulock, Boychuk, Mayfield, and Dobson on the right side, so I think Wilde is pretty expendable.

I´m trying to think of free agents who don´t cost anything. Sakari Manninen. KHL

Wilde is worth holding onto. Let him take a few years to develop, odds are this roster will look very different in a couple of years and there might be a spot for him. I agree that Barbashev has value and could be a solid 3C but you can get him for less

Exactly my opinion. Lamoriello is smart, tough.
