Kid lines never work. Especially almost all rookies. They need atleast one vet on the line

I like the kid line but I don't think we'll see it on opening night... unless you're in Bakersfield that night.

Pominville won't cost more than about $1M; Persson won't start in the top-4.

the other option for me is benning because having russell in the lineup is a liability. i didnt know what to give pommiville because who knows why a 36 year old would sign here. probably dont disagree about the kid line but i think it would be a good line

Benning would be a good option. I highly doubt Tippett will PB Russell, all the coaches he's played for love him. He was 45th in TOI/gp at 5v5 last year - that's essentially a 1st pairing number. That displays a high level of trust, it does not spell "liability". TIppett will probably start Russell on the 3rd pair though, and move him up as necessary.

Yah tell Chicago that!
League is getting younger every year and the young kids are better and more prepared for nhl every year.
Yama needs to stay down, who was Marody / Bensons other line mate on the Condors, anyone know

his icetime may not spell liabilty but his results spell AHL player... would rather him not on the roster

Yeah, I'm not a Russell fan either, but his results really aren't bad in the context that all Oilers results are bad. In other words, his results aren't worse than his teammates' results are. I don't think it's fair to lay the blame at Russell's feet for the Oilers woes. He's clearly an NHL defenseman and a veteran, I don't see Tippett PBing him unless the youngsters are way, way better than I'm projecting, which would be a very good thing indeed!

his relative stats are in the negative so they are worse than his teammates
