Somehow this offer just seem low to me - talking about a TOP5 sniper with unique talent...

One could say that a trade for a top level player is low on value when the trade doesn't make a single hole in to your roster... In this case it's pretty much just like that.

Laine is rumored to have a significant Fortnite addiction and would play late into the morning before games. No idea how accurate that is, but it was out there for quite some time.

Swap out Beau for dal Colle (and an additional pick if need be) or Bellows and you have a deal. Leddy, Beau and Wilde along with the first is too much for a guy who wants out of WPG and is one dimensional. Beau than becomes your 3 LW with Brassard and Ho-Sang. If that's the price for Laine I'd rather just Offersheet him at just below the 4 1sts level and make WPG make a difficult decision on whether to accept or not.

I have seen may trades for Laine and this one offered good value back to the Jets. I like the 1st round pick. A top 4 defenceman who is near retirement and two prospects who appear both have upside. #28 overall, and #41 overall. It still doesn’t address the Jets need for 2C.

Leddy is 28 and isn't near retirement? But yes he's definitely a top-4 D. The Isles aren't deep at C either. But you could use those assets to flip for a C if you wanted to

Yes, I was acknowledging Leddy would be an ideal defenseman to acquire. I have seen Laine trade proposals where the Jets would receive a defenseman well in his 30’s. I have stated that to move Laine, I think Jets would demand 2C, top 4 Dman, a prospect, and 1st round pick. There is no doubt in my mind Laine will be a top goal scorer. If he was on a team not so deep in forwards, he would get more ice time and more scoring chances.

Yes, I acknowledge it was a decent trade for the Jets. I was referring to other trade proposal I had seen.

But how can you say he’s near retirement

You need to read my text again. I never said Leddy was near retirement.
