Slater can go. Brent can get an agreement going to hit LTIR and then traded to Ottawa so they can get to the floor next year

Um...Nylander probably isn't ready for first line minutes yet.

He has so much SB left to be paid that I don’t think Ottawa would consider such a thing. If the insurance covers it, it’s a different story.

With Toews and Shaw he might be able to survive rotating 1st and 3rd line minutes.

Think they'll keep toews and kane together to keep the top 2 lines more balanced. If you put kane on the strome Debrincat line it really makes that first line look weak

Keep Kane and Toews together.

I can't see Kubalik not on the roster for week 1. The first game of the season is in his home country.

Toews/Kane stay together. The Hawks like to tout the Debrincat/Strome brotherhood too. The Hawks need a #1LW and a #2RW. Kubalik will 100% be on the roster. I go back and forth on whether that'll be the top line @ LW or the 2nd line at his natural RW. Getting Perlini signed will help close out the forward discussion for a few games. Dach will undoubtedly get 9 games. I want Saad and Shaw to be his line mates. It just makes too much sense in my dumb brain. Both are true professionals that can easily play higher than the 3rd line, but at the same time can easily play a physical typical 3rd liner role. Both play a crash the net cycle game just like Dach. It creates 3 lines capable of scoring which is important too.

Bingo!

I'll also add, not a chance Boqvist will be thrown to the fire on the 1st line. Gus and Keith were the best pairings last year and they will keep that as the first line, at least at the start of the season. Seabs isn't going to be scratched, again not at least in the beginning of the season. The only way I see Boqvist getting games to start the season is if De Haan is not back from shoulder surgery. Otherwise, Boqvist will play in Rockford and that is the smart thing to do...DO NOT rush a 19 year old to the NHL especially one who doesn't have the size. They made that mistake with Jokiharju already.

No question boqvist makes the nine game trial, and in my opinion, he should play the majority of the season with the hawks. The ahl will help any deficiencies in his game. That being said, he is by far the best prospect we have, full spot period. No one even comes close to his drive, skill, and awareness on the ice.

Now, it’s unpopular opinion time folks.

Ohhhhh dach. There’s two scenarios that play out with this kid in my head. One, is that logic actually takes hold and people realize how unready this kid is. The second, and considering who our GM is and how desperate he’s gotten, is that he is rushed to the nhl. I really hope in all actuality he doesn’t even get nine games. Dach still lacks so much drive and effort which, mixed with his inability to use his body and clear lack of speed, is dangerous in today’s nhl. All it takes is dach skating with his head down once in nine games and someone puts him in the third row. People say there’s so much to like about him and that he’s nhl ready, but people gotta start paying attention to what does, or rather doesn’t do, without the puck. Not the times when he actually strips pucks, cuz that’s good. I mean the way he lacks the awareness to be an opportunist. Also, just in case nobody knows this, he a 41.2% faceoff percentage in the whl last year. 41.2%!!!!! I can’t wait till we just give up and make him a winger. I know I’m harsh on him, but at number three overall, that won’t change. Go back to juniors kid, and learn to actually dominate there first.
