Leafs take those picks. And they offer sheet all of you RFAs. They will offer sheet barzal to a contract that makes your team broke.
Why is barzal on the 4th line

As silly as it is that the Isles what get the cap hell with an overpayment to Marner....with Barzel and Pullock to be signed next year, isn't this one of the most unrealistic post.
Ladd and his 5.5m has just disappeared. Leddy gets traded with no cap being returned. C'mon. There is reason teams don't make offer sheets. No cap.

That's not a real threat. A player has to sign an offer sheet.

Exactly, and nobody wants to play in dump island NY, so Marner wouldn't sign that

Why are Islanders fans convinced that Leddy is the second coming of Bobby Orr?

LI is so much nicer than that hole Toronto. Don’t confuse Long Island for Long Island City. Two totally different places.

We usually ask for 2nd round picks and prospects or an equivalent top-6 forward. No Islander fan thinks he's the second coming of Bobby Orr.

No one is saying he is the second coming of Orr, but he's also not worthless. He's a Top 4 (possibly top 2) LHD, with excellent skating, can get the puck out of the zone and can put up 40+ points a season. He's certainly worth a 1st round pick, plus more. Only people who don't think so are people simply looking at his stats last year and think he is regressing, when that is just not true in any sense.

Collin Miller is younger, cheaper, plays a more desirable side and is a better hockey player, yet he barely got more than a 2nd when he was traded earlier this summer. Leddy isn't worth a 1st.

You're not seriously comparing Miller to Leddy, are you? Miller has had ONE season where he scored 40+ points and has played ONE full season of 82 games, other than that he's never played more than 65 games. Not to mention, Miller was moved as a CAP dump as Vegas was WAY over the CAP... meaning he didn't get back what he would have under normal conditions.

Leddy has had 3 seasons (with a 4th season only 3 points away) of 40+ points, has been healthy every season (78 games was his fewest in the last 6 years), Has been the Isles #1 defenseman (meaning he plays against tougher opponents) until last season and isn't being moved as a CAP dump. He's also one of the best skating defenseman in the league and moves the puck out of the zone with ease.

Leddy absolutely brings back more than Miller easily, because if no one offers a 1st the Isles hold on to him and move him at the TDL or next offseason.

You lose all credibility when the first stat you use to judge a Defenseman is points.

And you lose all credibility when you make **** comparisons... and by the way points was ONE comparison I made between them, but that's the one you want to focus on to call me out on not knowing how to judge a defenseman it just leads to my argument you have no idea what you're talking about. Miller isn't better than Leddy, he may become better than him because he's younger and has room to improve, but he's not better than him now... plain and simple.

Jordan Eberle: "It's becoming well known around the league that the Island is a place guys want to play, with the stability that Lou and Barry provide. I approached Lou about signing an extension shortly after the season ended and it sorta went from there."

Lol ya that proves me wrong. It's a gas can. One of the jokes of the league. I'm not trying to be a dbag, it's the same as my baseball team the Jays. Nobody wants to play in these places

I'm just saying that you said nhl players don't want to play on long island, but eberle said they do. Brassard also backed out of a deal with the Oilers to come here just this week. Two years ago id probably agree with you, but with the arena now and the stability in the front office and behind the bench, i don't

We will see, but Panarin turned down lots of cash just to live not far away. Lou is poison man. Leafs have been trying to clean his garbage up for a year now and once Marner is signed it's finished. He's an idiot and I bet most players don't want to play for him
