He had career highs in goals and points last year. If it ain't broke don't fix it.

Nah. Seem pretty pointless to me. I'd keep Radulov as RW.

Just out of curiosity, what would be your opening night lineup? As of now I got

Gurianov-Seguin-Pavelski
Benn-Hintz-Radulov
Dickinson-Faksa-Perry
Janmark-Dellandrea-Cogliano

Of course assuming Dellandrea makes the lineup. Thoughts?

Scary team!
Add 2 of the best offensive D on the backend and this team could go really far!

For the first game I'd consider a lineup like this:

Robertson-Seguin-Pavelski
Benn-Hintz-Radulov
Dickinson-Dellandrea-Perry
Cogliano-Faksa-Gurianov

Lindell-Klingberg
Heiskanen-Johns(assuming he's declared fit to play)
Sekera-Polak

Bishop-Khudobin

I like it. I really hope Robertson makes the roster. I’m a huge fan

Same here.

But if Robertson and Dellandrea turns out to not quite ready for NHL yet, then I'd place Gurianov for the first line in Robertson's place and move Faksa as the 3C. Then I'd slot Janmark and Comeau to the open slots in the 4th line.

Nill seems pretty adamant that Robertson spend the bulk of this season in the AHL to get his legs under him. Dellandrea may be on the opening night roster, but Nill is likely going to use him sparingly to prolong the 10-game tryout that he gets. If he's a scratch, it doesn't count against his 10-game tryout and he can still stay and practice with the NHL team. If he PLAYS in 10 games then Nill has to either keep him up all year or send him back to Flint. It's a risky move, if he doesn't produce. If he doesn't impress, then you send him back to one of the worst juniors teams in Canada instead of allowing him to practice with the NHL squad. If he doesn't impress and you keep him in the NHL then you are depriving him of legitimate playing time back in Flint. Best bet with Dellandrea is that he gets a 10-game tryout that extends through the first month of so of the season. That being said, if he does play, it would not be in the Stars best interest to give him 4th line minutes between two wingers that don't score. Put him on a two-way line, between wingers that can score or play some defense, and then evaluate his play on both ends of the ice.

Meanwhile, the opening night lineup I would be running:

If Dellandrea plays on opening night
Benn-Seguin-Radulov
Gurianov-Hintz-Pavelski
Dickinson-Dellandrea-Perry
Cogliano-Faksa-Comeau
Janmark

If Dellandrea is a scratch or back in Flint
Benn-Seguin-Radulov
Gurianov-Hintz-Pavelski
Dickinson-Faksa-Perry
Janmark-L'Esperance-Comeau
Dowling

If Johns is healthy
Heiskanen-Klingberg
Lindell-Johns
Oleksiak-Sekera
Polak

If Johns is still not ready
Lindell-Klingberg
Oleksiak-Heiskanen
Sekera-Polak

Bishop
Khudobin

Especially not between two players who are going to really hamper the play-style he brings to the table. He needs to be between two players who, at the least, are two-way threats. Ideally, he's the playmaking, puck-moving center between a couple of scoring wingers, it'll take a little bit for him to work his way into the top-6 with Dallas. Throwing him between Janmark and Cogliano would be awful for his development.

Not for the term he wanted. The Stars have Heiskanen, Hintz (possibly twice), Gurianov (possibly twice), Robertson, and Dellandrea all up for contracts over the course of Zuccarello's 5-year contract. Throw into that Klingberg's extension in 3 years and the Stars have quite a few players that will be up for significant contracts over the 2 year difference between Pavelski and Zuccarello's contracts.

Sorry, I'm a Ranger fan and I wanted the better draft pick from you. And I thought you'd sign him because he seemed a good fit. But Minnesota's offer was a little too much and definitely too long so I dont blame Dallas for choosing Pavelski.
