Would be an all in move by Winnipeg but youd have to take Perreault/Kulikov/Lowry back for cap.

Winnipeg counters with Stanley, Roslovic, Kulikov, Perreault, 2020 1st (Maybe another conditional pick based on playoff performance) for Petry and Danault

What's the point of those trades for Mtl? I think Petry, Danault and others are worth more alone than in a package... They each could fetch good return at the TDL if the Habs would decide on moving them...

I mean Vesalainen is a pretty damn good prospect.
Adding to the Habs already stacked prospect pool
Not too sure if Stanley has NHL potential but the guy looks like a tank on skates

Stanley had a good year in the AHL. he's a bit of a project but is on pace to develop into a decent NHLer IMO

Neither of these trades really help Montreal in fact I'd argue trading 2 of your best penalty killers, one of your best goal scorers and the second best defenceman on your roster for 4 players who may never be as good, a more expensive version of Paul Byron, and an overpayed 3rd pairing D who can't contribute offensively is a bad idea.

Montreal is close to being a serious contender, detonating the core for the sake of it won't help the team.

I agree. I'd like to think that Petry can get a 1st plus a solid prospect or even an A prospect and a second. Danault, after the season he just had, is too valuable for the Habs to want to trade. Plus being only 26 years old he is still really young. I think the Habs can make deals without necessarily having to acquire cap dumps to get nice prizes. Unless, along with a solid return already in place, they acquire cap dumps to get more prizes with it.
