Not a bad trade for both sides, although as a Habs fan it would burn to lose Byron, especially considering his value on special teams. But if Puljujärvi can bounce back with the Habs, he can be amazing.

I dont have much faith in Puljujarvi so to me this is a big overpay.

Puljuarvi is still young. Still has the potential to be a great player.

MTL clearly has no problem moving out players for late round picks so those picks could easily be re-acquired for guys like Reilly, Folin, Cousins, etc.

Of course losing Byron hurts but we could potentially be getting something better and bigger and in a position of need.

Have said it before but at this point the only way for the Oilers to extract any value out of Pulujarvi is to include him as a 'sweetener' in a bigger trade involving one of say RNH, Klefbom or Nurse not that the Oilers are looking to move any of those three.

Well exactly. The price is going to have to come down in regards to what the Oilers expect as a return. Clearly nobody wants to pay what they're asking.

I see what you are trying to do, but this is very risky. paying alot for a chance that JP is what everyone thought he was/should be.....but "no risk it, no biscuit". so why not
