The inflated cap will be prorated for time missed. They can certainly sign him in season. The tricky part will be the ltir money being consumed by the daily cap hits of clarkson and Horton.

I agree you can't have Petan and Wilson, hopefully Mikheyev turns out to be a good fit, and Aberg and Shore are clearly better options IMHO.

FWIW If Marner was willing to sign that, He'd already be resigned by now. Sounds like unless he gets what he wants. He'll just be playing overseas.

I'm not a leafs fan, so I'd like to see that. I was looking at potential teams that could offersheet Marner and I dont think there are really many teams out there.

I think Marner might be forced to sign at that cap hit and he'll just have to determine the term he is comfortable with. It's a shame because Matthews got the contract he wanted without much trouble.

Timashov is a feisty pest (with Kadri gone who is gonna act like a goof ?), he leads all Marlies in games played, must clear waivers to go back and is the cheapest Fwd bench player plus he is a Dubas guy.
