Remember when you were the only one who said Marner is worth 9.5 million.

Oh yeah, and I still think so. Actually many people said that and I stand behind that statement and would stay behind that statement, but Ive heard he is gonna get around 10 if its 6yr deal so Im going off of that.

I would stay away from tanev, top four of Rielly/Dermott Muzzin/Lilly. I’m not sure exactly what will be available in trade or ufa but if we were able to get a muzzin like Rhd I wouldn’t resign muzzin and go with Rielly Dermott sandin on the left. Pair the muzzin type rhd with Rielly I still think mayfield would be an excellent fit here, even hamonic if. He is not re signed) and use Dermott and Lilly on the second pair. Sandin could pair with anyone in the bottom pair and shine. Should be tons of options for a bottom pair rhd.

The Tanev signing kinda worries me because he can't seem to stay healthy, but it also intrigues me as he's a great hockey player when he plays and he and MO would make a solid pairing. Muzzin will likely take 5 years term for that money. But I think I like @Trickster's better...he signed DeMelo and Vatanen on D, you should check it out.

Tanev oh man, dude is lucky to play 60 games a year.
No thanks on Tanev, we need a D who can player a full season and playoffs.

Muzzin 100% gets more than 2 years somewhere.

Woll as backup? Too soon.

Been meaning to ask you about Hamonic. A couple of people here last week posted saying Hamonic is slightly over rated and definitely overpaid for what he does.
You get better looks at him yes? Your honest valuation of his play and the contract he's on vs what he gets as a UFA please.

Hamonic is good. Didn't you watch him play when he played for NYI? I did and as many Calgary games as I can watch...he reminds me alot of Jake Muzzin they play a similar style IMO.

I watched him while he was with NYI but much less since trade to Calgary so I was curious if regression happened or if I was reading biased opinions on him.

I think it's more to due with injuries than anything. Last year early in the season CGY was playing VAN (they still had Gudbranson at the time) and he laid out Hamonic with a massive hit (it was pretty scary for Hamonic for a min). He reminds me of Muzzin in that he plays a very smart and calculated game, i.e. he waits for the right opportunity to lay a hit he doesn't chase or try to force it like Phaneuf used to. But I still only get to watch so many CGY games and this is just my opinion on the matter. I think him and Rielly would make a great pairing... but I think he decides to go home to Winnipeg next offseason.
