Counter offer on Marner
Instead of Dobson you get Wilde (B prospect), a 2020 2nd, and a 2022 1st

Easy no. Dobson and 2020 1st is a starter point and nothing less, plus you add Bailey. I would change the offer to Bellows, Dobson, Bailey and 2020 1st but thats the lowest I would go.

Lol barzal - I wouldn’t trade barzal for laine + Ehlers. #1 centers are hard to find/develop. It’s a lot easier to find scoring wingers

The Dobson, 1st and Bailey would make more sense for both teams. Leafs would be under the cap and the Isles would get an upgrade and a true right winger. I’d say go to hell if I was the Islanders but just for this hypothetical situation it would make more sense.

Oh yeah it would. Bailey would replace like 75% of Marners production while reducing cap space and getting future top-4 Dman in the package with pick that is.. lets say.. highly touted.

Exactly. And Marner would be good in Isles, and I wouldnt be mad if he succeeds. Dobson for me is next Pietrangelo with everything, so I think he would be key piece in that move. But as you said, you gotta give to get.

If marner would sign for 9.5 x 6 I would do it , but if he’s holding out for 11 , I’ll pass
