Description
I sense a trade between these two teams coming as Guerin can take advantage of the Penguins cap situation.

Does this make sense ?

I think pens decline but maybe it’s just cuz I don’t like Foligno

What asset would it take to change that to yes?
This trade allows them to sign Petterrsson.

It's not a horrible trade I think. Helps the cap space issues and Sid/Geno are known for turning average players into much better than they really are.

That’s true I didn’t think about that I just think you could get more for Bjugstad. Maybe just a pick or 2

Bjugstad is better than Foligno by far more than a 3rd round pick.

It makes sense but I’m not a huge fan of this trade because I’m not a huge fan of Foligno. I feel like the penguins alrwady have too many top 9 quality forwards and it would make Foligno’s ability to find ice very difficult. Only way I’d be okay with this is if the penguins were getting another center in return to replace Bjugstad and I’m not so sure the Wild would logically be able to make that happen.

Not super thrilled about this trade. We had a better Bjugstad with Charlie Coyle (player with a lot of talent but has been a bit of a dissapointment/hasn't lived up to expectations) and we all know how that turned out... Foligno is also one of my favorite players. He knows his role on the team (4th line and PK duty) , is very solid at doing that role (probably our best PK forward last year), and he calls it like it is in interviews and overall seems like a huge leader for us. Bjugstad is the better player, no question, but Foligno really fits well for this club. Trade seems pretty fine value-wise, though, and Bjugstad definitely fills a need.

I'd be fine targeting him but maybe for someone like Eriksson Ek instead of Foligno.

I thought Eriksson was a keeper.
Dont see Folingo with Wild beyond his current deal.

Just seems that even short term , Wild need a C and RW, have far too many LW.

After I posted this, I thought imagine Geno in the Wild.
What you think @tansor ?

I'd like to hang on to Eriksson Ek for at least another year, but he's kind of replaceable in the sense that many of our young players can play center and he isn't all that special. He's really good in his own zone but other than that... Meh. We do have too many LW's but I don't think any of them besides Foligno belong on the 4th line. You're probably right, though, the smart thing to do is to trade him while we can still get assets for him since it's unlikely he re-sign here.

Geno would be interesting, especially since Kaprizov has Instagram pictures with him. Might cost a lot to get him and he is sort of in the decline, though.
