You can't compare D and F but you can compare values so Jones > Point and CBJ isn't moving him

trade 1st, a good prospect and a 3rd for one year of Kreider (even if it's low, not needed)

How so... Point is Tampas No 1 Center compared to Jones who is Columbus No. 1 Defender. You can't say either ones value is greater then the other 1C and 1D value is equal and to be honest neither team would trade their respective player in my opinion.

It all depends how you rank different positions, but I'd say Point and Jones are roughly even, as are Sergachev and Bjorkstrand, in terms of impact on the ice. But the difference in remaining term means Columbus has to really want another top six center, and be willing to pay a lot for one. Given that they didn't re-sign the one they traded for, last Spring, and still don't have a backup goalie with North American professional experience, I think they might have decided to spend this year watching their kids develop, and assessing what level the whole team is at. Maybe Jenner steps up as a second line center this year. Maybe Wennberg does. Maybe not. They still have their first round pick, and they may feel they need to keep their defense together, develop Korpisalo a little more, and draft one more key forward, before they're contending again.

Nope. Jones is a top8/top5 D in the league. Point isn't even a top10 C.

Tampa is getting absolutely trade raped by Columbus wtf. In what planet is Bjorkstrand as good as Serge like some are suggesting. A (recent top 10 draft pick) 40 point per season 21 y/o defender is not close to equal with a 24 year old 40 point per season wing.

Where do these people come from

Well, these are trades for sure.

I’d do the Kreider deal if the cap works, but want absolutely nothing to do with the CBJ trade. Seth Jones is being very much overrated here and Point is untouchable unless it’s McDavid or MacKinnon coming back. I don’t know who is more valuable between Point and Jones, but Point fills a spot that nobody else really can, whereas a top-four RHD is no longer a need. Adding Sergachev for Bjorkstrand is just awful.
