Isles wouldn’t give up an A prospect for a rental.

Gallagher currently has 2 years remaining on his contract. Is this proposed trade before the trade deadline? Summer 2020?

Is this a trade made at the 2020 trade deadline or in the summer?

If it’s at the trade deadline and wahlstrom is lighting it up in the AHL, I can’t see this trade happening. Taking advantage of productive players on ELC is crucial to making deep playoff runs. The islanders wouldn’t re-sign Gallagher, they’re not looking to add any more 30 year olds on long term deals. if Gallagher is available at this season’s trade deadline (and producing at a 30 goal pace) , the most the islanders should give up is a 1st and bellows for Gallagher and a 2nd. I wouldn’t be surprised if wahlstrom is with the islanders by mid season.

Gallagher have more value than you think. Tatar was traded for a 1st 2nd 3rd round pick and Gallagher have way more value than Tatar. With another year left on is contract, he's worth Wahlstrom

At the time Tatar had that playoff run and 3 additional years left on his contract. The value is fair , but the islanders won’t give up an A prospect for that much term. It reminds me when islanders fans wanted to give up barzal for duchene (with 2 years left on his contract)

Gallagher is a 30 goals scorers and what he brings on the ice isnt in stats. Heart, work hard, front of the net, etc + Gallagher is in the top 10 maybe top 5 for goals at 5v5

That’s great - islanders aren’t giving an A prospect for a year and a half of Gallagher, maybe if he was 24 or 25 and came with an extension. He’ll be turning 30 in the 1st year of his new contract. If Montreal made Gallagher available right now the most I’d give up is a 1st, a 2nd, and bellows. The islanders aren’t in a position to be giving up their best forward prospect.

2 years of gallagher isnt worth a top prospect nor is Dach worth a 3C and a lesser prospect.

Value is off by a lot here
