He has a NMC clause, which means he can refuse it.

He also wouldn't be in danger of being sent down

Getting $4.6 wiih Alzner and losing $7.2 with Ryan. The difference is only $2.6. Not a big issue except for Melnyk. Can add up Peca and Weise is minimum cap is the issue.

Ryan being a good hockey player is his guarantee that he plays in the NHL. Alzner played in the AHL because he's dog poo.

He will play in the NHL for 2019-2020. Mtl need a right wing for 2nd or 3rd line. There's no problem with that. And don't be surprise if Alzner cracks the lineup in Ottawa has a mentor and bottom pair D.
