I don't think Mayfield is all that great, he's serviceable and he's better than Ceci sure but he's a bottom 4 defenceman. Kapanen is a good player and I think under the right circumstances he'll score a 30+ in a season in his career, with that said, I also don't think he's half as good as people make him out to be. He had a hot start with Matthews last season before completely disappearing in the second half and playoffs. I think you could get better value for Kapanen than this but its not the worst move they could make.
