Other than the Twitter notification "Jets have agreed to terms with..." giving me a heart attack, nothing wrong with this signing. Another Depth F for either the press box or the Moose.

Two way contract so he can be sent back and forth from the Moose to the Jets, depending on injuries. Absolutely nothing wrong with this signing yup. I'm looking forward to the Connor/Laine news coming in before training camp starts though wink

Don't sneer at depth. And this is as deep as it gets.

I don't think you're gonna have your heart attack until after training camp starts. Neither Laine or Connor will be under contract before then. Unfortunately, til then it'll just be players under $1M AAV.

I know it's literally as cheap as possible, but I'd prefer a depth defenceman over a depth forward. We have no shortage of good forwards.

Don't agree with this as a good signing as they just gave him his career best salary when he is coming off a few years past his prime. He isn't a serious contender for a 10min+ role on any team that should call themselves a contender either. Maybe he finds a 4th line role on the Jets and/or fits in as an AHL vet presence. The reason they must be signing him though is they are desperate for a bit more capable forwards that can be used in training camp to better gauge what they have in other forwards. Borque can be used as a measuring stick: they know he is likely a 4th line at best player and can see how much better, or worse, their "? players" are against him. This signals to me that maybe Laine/Connor wont be signed before training camp and they wanted the extra player to insure they have that competition in camp.
