you have to be like up against the cap in order to get cap relief from LTIR, something like that

when i initially made this post he had macarthur, callahan and gaborik on ltir. his cap hit was only 53m LTIR gives benefit from the cap. putting them on LTIR wouldnt put them over the floor it would put them under. they would have to sign 8+m worth of contracts to put them over the floor.
