I don't think Pettersson takes that little, would've love if he did though

I think pettersson would like the deal Cole got in the 2015 off season.

I'm not sure how much Pens can sign him for if they don't move out one of Johnson, Hornqvist, Gudbranson.
Pettersson doesn't have arbitration rights nor can he be offer sheeted so his leverage is pretty limited.
Maybe 1 year x $1.2m until Pens can move out some deals?

$2.1 x 3 is fair. But without moving out a contract, it's impossible

That’s true. What about send JJ to the AHL?

worst case. I'd be okay packaging Johnson for another bad contract. (Rask?)

Zucker is still on the block for Minnesota, I'd send a lot of assets to get him

No one runs a team with 22 against the cap. 22 able to skate, maybe, but not 22 against the cap. The "22 man roster" is a fallacy.

Can you elaborate?
I was under the impression that if guys like Simon, Ruhwedel are not sent down, they still count on the cap

I meant the other way. You will end up with 23+ counting against the cap. Saying that 22 fits under the cap is meaningless.
