Usually I'm defending Puljujarvi's value in these posts but Gustafsson just had an unreal season. There's no way Chicago moves him unless they're positive he isn't re-signing

way overpaid for JP. Gustafsson along would get you at least JP and a second or third-round pick

Huge overpay. If the Hawks are out of the playoff picture and Gus has a similar season, he will be the UFA D rental of the year, and should command a 1st rounder+

Kampf is a sneaky good bottom 6 player. Not sure I'd trade him for JP straight up, to be honest.

they just got Koekkoek , De Hann , and Maata in the past few months behind Keith , Gusafsson and Dahlstrom who started last year with Forsling who's departed .
you cant tell me you think they stock piled LD so quickly because they were worried about replacing Forsling , its because they're going to move Gustafsson before the TDL for sure if not this summer in efforts to make something from nothing after signing Gustafsson at EDM expense .

Gustafsson at his age and CHI current rebuild state will want top dollar CHI cannot match .
moving him now for a former 3rd overall pick who can rebound in CHI as easily as Dylan Strome did when his value was lower

the deal makes perfect sense but that 5th has to become a 2nd for people to stop ****ing about over paying for JP.
whether or not that's how it goes down or not is beyond me but thats what it takes for them to see equal value in exchange
Personally i think JP thrives the moment he's out of that cancerous system as Daryll Katz ownership tenure will be remembered for all the playoffs EDM missed and all the top 10 picks they busted .

*4th OA pick

I think Puljujarvi will turn it around too once he's out of Edmonton but considering he's refusing to play for the Oilers you can probably acquire for something less than a 60 point Defenseman (even if he is a pending UFA)

Couldn't agree more with all these opinions. Gus is gonna be moved for a 1st rounder at least. Pool Party is just taking a nose dive on value, so I can't understand why some think he would command this much in assets. Stan, please let Gus have another good half season and trade him at the deadline (AND DONT GET FLEECED!!!!).

Also, I usually say he won't be on the team this year, but I'm gonna switch it up. Everyone, Kirby F@%&ing Dach should not be on the team next year! More specifically, Kirby Dach will not be a center on this team, as he can't play center. He's a little too lazy, he can't take faceoffs, and he lacks awareness off the puck. So in all honestly, if/when he makes the team NEXT YEAR, he should be a winger. Actually he probably should for his entire career. So much for that center at #3 OA????

In my opinion Gus is overrated... yeah he can put up offense but we need defense too. Our system is filled with offensively minded defenseman i.e. Boqvist, Mitchell, and Beaudin. get rid of Gus who is gonna want a lot of money in the offseason that the hawks need for strome and debrincat and depending on Crawfords health his contract and Lehner too. The only way we keep Gus is if we find a way to get rid of Seabrook which is dang near impossible.
