Yes, it was reported in Hockey Buzz...not exactly the most credible place for hockey news, but that said this rumor has been floating around for some time. Also, it's been reported Kieth isn't totally bought in to Coach C's new program. Would he waive to go play under Tallon, Coach Q and Kitchens?

I know Q is there, but I can't see it making sense to trade for a 36 year old with 4 more years left.

HockeyBuzz lol

Of course, FLA acquires Keith when they already have two top4 LD and 6 regular NHL D.
FLA doesn't agree on the condition

Hoffman is a 1 year rental, what's he really worth if he's already told Florida he's going to free agency? A conditional 1st, a 3 time stanley cup defender which florida needs a top 4 veteran and a B+ prospect...I wouldn't say the value is that far off for a 1 year rental.

It has been floated around a few times earlier in the summer in local chicago media so i'm sure there is some merit to it. Whether Hockey Buzz is late to the game or there are still talks going on nobody knows.

Fact is, Hoffman is a very attracting piece to get your hands on at the deadline to boost your offense in the playoffs.

Keith is a dead weight with an albatross contract, you are most likely to have to pay a sweetener to be able to get rid of him. Perlini has been a bust ever since he came into the league and even the change of scenery hasn't improved his situation. He's definitely not a B+ prospect.

It simply just doesn't make sense with the pieces involved. Perlini yes, the 3rd yes but Keith makes absolutely no sense and just looks like one of those random trade generator adds.

Keith is a top 4 on most teams and at $5.5M is not an albatross...give me a break

5.5M AAV for 4 more years paid to a 36 years old are definitely an albatross in my books

LOL...he's not 40 and still is a top 4 defender on almost every team and a top 2 on a fair amount

Perlini is hardly a prospect with nearly 200 games under his belt. And certainly not a B+ players. He’s pretty average I would say at this point. Might hit 20 goals someday if he’s lucky, but after 200 games you are no longer a prospect.

If he’s so good then why do Chicago fans support trading him on here almost constantly. He’s clearly not the player he used to be and will continue declining with age. He is definitely not top 2 on any team and his top 4 status is dwindling as he nears 40.

Fair enough but he's only 23 years old. Last season was on track for 20 goals but only played 68 games. I think he's a 20 goal scorer, middle 6 player. He's hot and cold is his problem...needs consistency.

They don't and I bet I follow what the Hawk fans do on here more then you. They support Seabs being traded but not very often do you see Keith.

Ah yeah I think I confused him and Seabrook. It’s still a tough sell him being 36 and all. He won’t be the same player in two years and might be a buyout candidate in 3.

Even if he is a buyout he will be a cheap one in 3 years.

He could become middle six and maybe on Chicago he is middle 6 but I can easily see him becoming a fourth line mainstay in the near future. He just isn’t that good and I don’t see a perennial 20 goal player there.
