Good job. One thing that you did, that I'm a big fan of, is that you took your three best centers, and you put one of them on each of the first three lines, in the middle, to play with two "wings."

Nobody tell Edmonton.
hosh liked this.

Jets fan here, what’s the new Schenn contact going to look like? Are you guys worried at all about not having enough space to resign him?? Just curious as I saw you guys don’t have a crazy amount of cap space left. At least you could move Allan and free up space, plus with cap rise and his $ you should be fine. Just wondered your opinion on the situation.

Honestly not too sure, I think they could totally sign him if they want to, but I’m not sure it’ll happen. They believe in Thomas as a top-6 center and I don’t think they’ll want to have Schenn making a ton of money to be the 3c or 3rd best winger. If he’s on the team when the season starts he’ll likely be an “own rental” unless the blues suck in which they’ll trade him at the deadline

Schenn was so close to being traded last season that he’s been quoted as saying he thought it was a done deal. Was he the first one going because Armstrong doesn’t feel he’ll be able to resign him? Nobody knows.

The Blues going into the 20-21 season will have plenty of low cost forwards to resign but Pietrangelo, Dunn, and Schenn are the big contracts. Pietrangelo will be 30 at the end of next year. He could command 10 million.

Thomas is the 2C of the future and that could start next year. I think Schenn wants to be a center going forward. There’s wingers coming up in the next couple of years in Kyrou, Kostin, and Bokk which further crowds the roster. The Blues can’t pay him 7-8 million to be a 3C. I think this will his last year as a Blue.

I’m not nearly as high on Blais as a lot of people seem to be, I think he’s a guy that can rotate in on occasion and add some physicality but don’t think he’s an everyday NHLer
