But Ottawa has 3 third line centers, they're missing a true 4th line centre to guarantee a win in those marquee matchups with LA this season! sarcasm
But seriously, you could probably move Beagle for a pick at the deadline if he plays well, and then you're left with a lower caphit .
Besides, helps Melnyks pocket, which unfortunately is the most important thing.

Beagles got 3 more years on his contract though.. doubt can trade him at the deadline..

and Sens will be taking on 9mil of cap space and only giving away 7.3mil

The term might be an issue, yeah.
But cap space? The Sens have tons, and as I said, Melnyk only cares about cash anyways. The cap space is the reason for Vancouver to do this. They need it, Ottawa has lots and can help them out.
