I've been saying for 8 months now that a Gus to MTL trade makes too much sense. It just boils down to price point.

Value is there. But habs won't trade their first as they draft at home..

That's irrelevant. They're getting a 60 point defenceman that could potentially carry them to the playoffs. It makes a ton of sense so they'll be trading either a first from one of the next two years or Lehkonen.

As @KCarry74 mentions. The draft in MTL complicates things, but they have a deep prospect pool. Could still make something work.

The value in the trade is there but the Hawks don't need another middle 6 winger prospect. Kurashev, Hagel, Kubalik, Nylander, Sikura...it's a growing list. Gus is worth more to the Hawks and Boqvist should not be playing. He should spend a year in the AHL against men...he needs to work on his defense and there is no reason to rush him with Gus on board.

Also, can pretty much bet Dach is not playing in the NHL. He is very raw and needs to work on his skills like Faceoffs...which are just brutal in the juniors.
