Description

Ceci traded once Hyman is healthy from LTIR and Liljegren takes his place on 3rd pairing. I dont know the return on Ceci with that trade but we will see based on performances. If Joakim Ryan type of 6/7 D would be return I would be happy and fine with it because that would only be a stopgap until Dermott returns.. which would result in this:

Marner's holding out and threatening to play in Europe for $8,750,000? Marner should get over $10MM as he's Toronto's best player who can actually play over 65 games in a season.

Maybe Marner will be the first of the Leafs young stars to prove that he actually wants to play in Toronto and sign a long-term deal.....my article on this at the Globe and Mail later today.

Marner is not the best player on the Leafs. He’s not even a franchise level player. He wants 8 years at 9 million AAV but the team are unwilling to offer that to him. They think Marner got carried by Tavares, which may be true, but only to a certain extent.

In the final 33 games of 2017/18, Marner was removed from the fourth line and put as Kadri’s RW. During that span, he put up 36 points (22 at even strength).

Over a full season, Marner would’ve got 90 points with 55 at even strength. So at the very least, we should all be able to admit that Marner is better than Nylander.
