To be honest I would do none of those trades if I were Montreal! It's too much to pay!

Its more so extremely unrealistic and getting those 3 players under the cap is unrealistic

fun looking roster but Avs would have 0 interest in that trade, 2 years of Gallagher and hope and prayers that you can land a guy close to as good as Rants with the 1st round picks.

You dont land one of the top young Wingers in the game on hopes and prayers, you need more solid young commodities to temp a team

Won't really argue your point, there's definetly a risk on the Avs part. Wishful thinking would be for Gallagher to resign. What if I replaced the 2021 and 2022 1sts for Primeau and Ylonen?

Gallagher would still be considered the top piece in the move bc hes the only known value of a talent, and he would be too old to be the centre piece of moving Rants. Primeau is a high end goalie prospect and a super attractive piece in a trade but goalies are such a wild card, you never know how they really develop. dont know anything about Ylonen but that seems like the same thing, hasnt even made it over to NA to play pro hockey. You dont move a franchise winger for that IMO

they would need a guy like Drouin or Domi in the Gallagher spot with the additional prospects to make it worth their wild. Bc at the very min they are getting a top 6 foward in Domi and Drouin at a decent ag compared to Rants.

My homer side says Kotkaniemi has to be involved in any deal just to get them interested, Rants is just too good

Yeah none of those 3 deals are remotely happening, Laine gets more then $7 million per. And Rantanen is probably closer to $9.5 million per at the very least.

I'm giving them a short term contract of 4 ys so they can cash it in more at 25-26 when they'll be due for extensions. I'm using Meier's and Aho's contracts as the bar.

Caufield > Laine

I feel you, but Laine's size and age is what's tempting to actually consider this trade.

I get it. Rightfully so to want Kotkaniemi, it's just that when the experts out there label him as the next Barkov it's kinda hard let go of that lol

oh for sure i get that too, and for avs fans when media guys start throwing out comparisons of I see a lot of Jagr in Rants game, especially during the playoffs. I want to keep my big dumb hockey moose as long as possible to find out

I don't see the Jagr comparison at all. Personally he reminds me of Kopitar on the wing.

They compare Caufield to Debrincat. Who would you rather have, Debrincat or Laine?

I'll take that back, he uses his body very similarly to Jagr when protecting the puck. But overall he reminds me of Kopitar.

Lmao laine almost dropped 40 in his rookie season and has three seasons of all 30+ Goals already. Caulfield has not played a single NHL shift. Therefore it’s impossible for him to better. Simple logic.
