Every year there’s always a couple guys that come out of no where and have a really successful season. 17-18 it was Yanni Gourde, 18-19 there were a couple but one that really stands out is Erik Gustavsson. If someone told me he’d hit 62 points before this past season I would’ve asked who that was. Who has this type of season and surprises everyone out of nowhere. For me, it would be Alex Barre-Boulet.

Bold prediction: Aberg gets 55+ points

Go ahead, tell me i'm stupid. It's a bold prediction though.

Alex Barré-Boulet isn't really a surprise in the way that Yanni Gourde and Erik Gustafsson were. Based on his boxcar stats, Yanni Gourde looked like some AHL tweener before putting up 60-something points year before last. Erik Gustafsson looked like just another guy, based on his point production, before coming up with 60+ points out of nowhere.

Alex Barré-Boulet put up 60+ points in the AHL as a 21-year-old. That kind of point production at that age usually signals a decently good player. Now that we've seen him produce in the AHL as a pretty young player, we can expect that he might be a pretty good NHL player. Those expectations weren't there with Gourde and Gustafsson.

I guess your right. But I still think no one expects him to put up 60+ points. If he’s not it I think a guy to keep an eye on is Noah Dobson
