you would. It would cost you Bracco Marner Liljegren and Sandin plus a 1st for Thomas and Parayko. Marner wants to be overpaid. (Blues don't have the space for that) Marner is already overrated. If he doesn't have John Tavares we all know O'Reilly isn't Tavares-esque. I personally wouldn't make the deal at all. Blast me for it, but knowing most Toronto fans they still want to inflate the Trade Value of Marner to get someone that is worth more than Marner. Parayko imo is Top 10 Defenseman (Pietrangelo shouldn't be).

I think Marner for Parayko straight up is a conversation. Marner may be saying, "give me Matthews money," in Toronto, but can he really say the same in St. Louis? They'll be like, "uhhhh we didn't dish out that idiot contract. Enjoy our way friendlier tax market, and take fair value."

If he sits out like Nylander and Bracco shines on Tavares wing.... that would only improve the leafs leverage... mitch is a great player but his drastic point increase this past season was improvement but also aided by Tavares.

Still, Marner isn't worth it.

Parayko is way better.

marnemi97

We don't have John Tavares so we would be completely screwed over because Marner gets carried by a All-Star Center.

i won't ever care about an advanced stat chart. Ever. I'll never read it, and I'll never read whatever else is in the post.

It has zero value to me.

That's on you, but that just says 10 Million Dollar throw away that would make us a fringe playoff team. Not the Back to Back Champion Contender.

Opinions are false feelings. Feelings are lies. Facts don't care about feelings. It's a sources of tainted judgement, and on here that's all it is, is tainted judgement.

i think baseball is the sport for you. there's nothing subjective in baseball. Honestly, you don't have to watch. It's all in the numbers.

Hockey is subjective.

Hmm, not really. Because all of the hockey skills now are based on people's biased opinion. Like your biased opinion says Pastrnak is best in the League as a Winger. Boston Fans say that. Montreal fans say Price is the best Goalie in the League. Toronto thinks every player in Toronto is worth 15 first round picks. So being more statistical with your analysis in an argument to backup your reasoning why a player is better is way better than someone getting heated because someone doesn't agree with his opinion.

don't try to tell me what my opinion is. I think Pastrnak is overrated. I watch the games and form my opinions. That's kind of what hockey is about. Seems like you look at the stats and accept the opinion that someone is telling you to have. tell ya what, i could really go for some shepherds pie today.

ya, youre basing everything off statistical analysis, but the game can't be properly statistically analyzed. That's really dumb, and just kind of boring. Why do you want everything bumped down to numbers? Just seems like a really sad way to go about enjoying hockey. Do you enjoy hockey? Anyway, if everything you're doing on here is based on statistical analysis, i think I will say farewell.

lol. you only say "farewell" because stats shows you up, on how wrong you are. You could 180 Degrees right now and you don't care because you don't want to be the guy that is wrong so you end a conversation without finishing it because you don't actually have a clue about the Blues. Only the glorified Boston Bruins you know to love.

I'll leave you with this. I certainly think of myself as a hockey fan first and a bruins fan second. The vast majority of my favorite players play for other teams. Parayko is one of them actually. Petro is another. Advanced stats are stupid. With forwards there is a tiny bit of merit, but with d men there is zero. There are too many variable. Every team has an advanced stats department, and they're mostly ignored.

I'm finishing this conversation because you bring nothing to to the table. Instead of conversing with you, I could look at a chart, and know what your opinion is. To me, that's a waste of effort. If I'm ever wondering what you think of a player, I'll just look it up. According to advanced stats at sportsnet, Jeff Petry is the 13th best d man in the NHL. No need to ask where you think he belongs, its 13! Cheers, enjoy the season.

I don't use Sportsnet Advanced Stats lmao. use the right advanced stats and you wouldn't see that type of crap.

from which side do you think a straight up trade is unfair? I think Toronto would have to add something, but nothing huge.

Well, Marner is a liability. marnemi97

Pretty Sure Blues don't have a Center as skilled as Tavares. and if he has no one as good as Tavares to lean on he is bad. So I would much rather get someone else rather than soon to be cap dump/overpayment.

Marner was a good player before Tavares became a Leaf, you know!
