Every fan base has their inflationists. Toronto, and Montreal aren't the only ones.

While I agree some of us habs fans have been over the top, it's hard not to be excited about someone who broke the USNDT record for goals.

Yes but, people are acting like they know more than the NHL top scouts.. and even the HABS had players like Krebs, Boldy, Podkolzin, Zegras ranked over Caufield.. so people just need to chilll

Jack Hughes was his center.. would be interesting to see if he breaks the record without him. He does have an elite shot but doesn't have great foot speed for a small guy... not a good sign... only time will tell

Caufields a stud, only fell in the draft because of his size. If he produced those numbers and was 6'1 the guy probably would've gone top 5-7 imo, I think there's good reason for the hype behind this kid

Multiple analysts have said Caufield could have easily put up impressive enough numbers without Hughes.. Not as high maybe but he could put good numbers up without him.

Because we have seen this all before. Your NHL top scouts get veto'd by GMs/management group because the kid is "too short". Montreal fans are excited about a kid that scores constantly, and does so in so many different ways. He doesn't just disappear on the ice when the puck isn't on his stick, like a Kaliyev, but he creates most of his chances out of nothing. Caulfield was ranked as high as 3rd, but mostly between 5-9. So excuse us for being pumped that 10+ GMs passed on him because he is short.

Doe's Hughes get as many assists without Caulfield? Not likely. Hughes had two wingers, only one performed at the level of Caulfield.

How do you know where they had him ranked? 100% of teams do not make their draft lists public knowledge. But yeah, you know it all.

That's usually what happens when there's 20x more of them than some of the other fan bases.....

You don't hear any Arizona fans claiming Soderstrom is better than Swiss cheese but then again, you don't hear Arizona fans at all either......
