All for you SpaghettiPasta - 2020 offseason RFAs no Joseph BUF NJ DET STL

Created by: Zwui21
Team: 2020-21 Tampa Bay Lightning
Initial Creation Date: Aug. 28, 2019
Published: Aug. 28, 2019
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
@SpaghettiPasta: I tried my best. There's some big juggling to do if no one from the 5M guys waive his NTC, but it's still possible. Everything gotta be at his place tho. One guy that wants more $ and it all goes south$

Also: the Brayden Point signing obviously accurs prior to this season, so it'd have 2 years left on his contract and not 3 as showed

Sergachev at 3.5 is heavily underpayed…. I think he could command value slightly less then what Carlo will sign for this offseason, but with an improved year it could be closer to Charlies ..

Sergachev will be looking at Girards contract.

Well, seeing that you have 6 forwards UFA in 2020, you'd be stupid not to jump on Paquette. One of the best 4th line Cs in the game ATM IMO

With our cap space situation he knows he ain't getting a 7 years contract. Make it a 3 years 3.5M if you think 4 years is too much, but I think it's a decent bridge for him

Yeah, these current RFA's will determine how contracts look next off season.

Oh, and it's a 1.65M contract. Pretty sure the Lightning won't have any problem find a trading partner for Paquette if they decide to trade him next offseason

If he signs a bridge for that hit its a 1 or 2 year deal. Assuming he has another strong year I don't know the last time a D man with 3 30+ point seasons in his first 3 seasons signed a bridge deal.

It is a nice try but you can't get around the fact that one of the 5 million dollar players need to go. You still need to sign two players and have no cap. Cernak may be worth more Serg may be less, this year will tell. For Serg to get paid he needs to be a top four defenseman. He has the tools, Cooper has to give him the chance.

Cerderic upped his game last year. He deserved the contract extension. 13 goals, + 7, 52.6 % Faceoff, 269 hits, kills penalties only 12 mins TOI.

Buffalo is currently over the cap and has too many roster players. I like pacquette fine, but we cant take players and salary unless we move like 5 guys

He has improved but I still consider him a replaceable bum.

I fully agree, this was just a test for @SpaghettiPasta that he challenged me to do a 2020 team without moving NTCs.
One of Palat/Johnson will mpst likely have to go

It's pretty close to what I came up with as well for 20-21, but with a slightly higher projected cap hit of 84.5 million. This was before the Maroon signing as well. However I don't think he resigns here after this year, and if Palat won't waive, a buyout is possible(which would open close to 2 million more in cap space). I think they can keep Joseph and Coburn, while paying either Sergachev or Cernak slightly more if necessary, depending on how this season goes. Killorn should get slightly better than a mid and a low pick. 2 mid picks or one 2nd maybe. I'd like to keep Paquette, but in most models he only fits if Palat is traded or Tampa chooses him over Coburn, so that situation is more unclear. I think it's pretty accurate though to how they will look going forward after this year.

Why on Earth would the Blues ever take that deal? Get serious.

Because I doubt you want to get Bouwmeester back, Coburn is a great Dman (last season he played some of his best hockey), and a 5th rounder for a 1 year, 1.7M for his services is a great deal. And this contract would give you an easy, cheap transition to Reinke.
