Really? I mean as a habs fan I would do that trade in a minute, I'm surprised Gost isn't worth more than that!

Overpays for a overrated dman. Plus montreal is done with left handed dman search. Chariot ass close the deal and with Leskinen who could surprise at training camp montreal might have to trade some left handed dman

Chariot was such an unnecessary signing at that point in time. I'm ok getting him but there was literally no need to get him when they did.

How many left D do you have that are capable of 65 points in a season? You can always bury some in the minors.
As a Flyers fan, it feels like we aren't getting enough. That's how i know it is a good deal.

My gut said to include a 2nd rounder coming back to Philly, but was looking for something the Habs might actually take. Ghost is a luxury item for us, and it will be tough to keep him in the expansion draft if Myers progresses as expected.

As a quick answer I would have accepted too, but after reading Mitch Brown evaluating top MTL prospects, maybe we have to think about it. Browns rank Ylönen and Brook as 3rd and 4th best prospects. His ranking is based on identifying potential top-of-the-lineup players, so even if those two guys aren't NHL ready like Romanov, they have a higher ceiling.

I would still accept the trade because Ghost be the QB on PP for MTL for a long time at a good price. MTL have also Fleury and Juulsen pushing at RD and they just drafted Caufield at RW. Ylönen and Brook are promising 2nd picks, but they are unproved NHLers.

Nope. Makes sense positionally, but the habs shouldn’t overpay with prospects at this point in their life cycle.

I think everyone else is assuming Brook and Ylönen are just throw-in prospects but I'm aware they're pretty highly touted. MTL accepts for a chance to win now and I think Philly wouldn't mind moving on from Ghost.

Its not about the point, its about is pore play
On defense. A guy like ryan macdonagh, hold way more value than a 65 point dman that cannot defend. That why he overrated, even if you think is that good, is poor play and is defensive unreliability make is value goes
down.

He is really good with the puck and for that he sure is great but he is more a jake gardiner or keith yandle type than a hedman or giordano or seth jones type. And just for your info he reach 65 point once and add 46, 39,37 so is more a 40-45 dman at this point. Vorachek add 2 80 points season since is debut does that make him 80 point guys?? No is more a 60-65 point guys. Corey perry add one 50 goal
Season does he is a 50 goal scorer? I think he was more a 30-40 goal scorer. Paul Byron is a 45 point guys! What would you answer me back after that comment ?

But that the point montreal isn’t in cup contention windows. So why trading away young assets this season. Next year we already have a way different team in montreal with all those young players filling in and olofsson, ikonen, ylonen, norlinder, romanov will all came to america. Maybe ikonen, ylonen and romanov have a real
Chance at making the club in 20-21. I am good with trading young player but for the right players and at the right time. Like blackhawks did back in 2010. They where full of young stud and made trade when its was time to brings the cup home

Thanks for support ?! Montreal is not ready too make that kind of trade. And more and more i look to the situation and more i think bergevin does really know what is doing. Montreal will be in a great position entering the expansion draft, with cap space no major problem on player protection, they certainly can trade with some team that will lost some good players but a lower cost. I think this is why bergevin isn’t throwing away the cash like everyone would like to. Personally im good with that.

He is not a great defender, but holds his own. That's why i didn't ask for Caulfield and Juulsen. He may not score 65 every season, but he is more than capable of 50-55. How many left D does MTL have that can do that?

None and we don’t need one at all cost. Mete will step up this year and score a few goal he will break the 30 point, kulak will be around 25 point and chariot might get to 20 point but they all are really defensive responsible. Kulak and mete are great skater and make a good transition pass. Montreal was playing a real fast pace game last year and ghost surely would fit in but i don’t see montreal making this trade simply because of seattle expansion draft and the cup windows is not open yet. Why trading young players who doesnt need to be protect and trading for a guys we might loose if Montreal doesnt protect him! One thing sure he would put 55 point under claude julien the first year! He would see more bench time in third period than in any moment in is career so he would learn to play defence quick.
