Would have been nice to get him signed with term, but this is a good deal nonetheless

Good contact, if next two years will be good, then big money guaranteed.

Connor Brown signed for 2.1m after putting up similar numbers in his preceding year his contract. Now was when the cap was 8% lower but Brown signed for four years. Almost the same...it's a Lou contract.

Shorter term=less money. I'm surprised both sides didn't push for a $3.5M X 4-5 years type deal though.

I thought so too, but he sorta regressed offensively last season with fewer goals and points that the year before. I still like him as a future top 6 LW for many years to come. And at least he'll still be an RFA when this deal expires.

Yup. If he had a breakout season offensively last season Lou probably would've locked him up for 6 years. This deal makes perfect sense for both sides and I think Zacha (2 years/$$2.75M) will sign for a similar term and $$ after seeing this one. He'll get a slight bump in salary b/c he's a Center.

Haha! Exactly half the points of Labanc (56) and more than twice the money. I wish I'd been there when Wilson pulled that one off!

Good contract for Isles and Anthony. Lou now has a lot of forwards signed - 16 on the current roster and they're not sending Barzal down...

this is a great deal for the Islanders....for 2 years, then it turns to crap. Theyre going to wish they had signed him for a lot longer, and more money. Colin White got paid twice as much, and is a better player than him now.

Who doesn't as a TBL fan? IMO his contract is already done, just can't announce it for "obvious reasons".
Just trust BriseBois: relax & enjoy the ride next season. popcorn popcorn popcorn

Just a couple of weeks and already preseason, time flies so fast awesome face

About the signing:
EW Contract Projections had him at 2.6 mill $ @ 2 years, so based on that, it's a significant discount.

Nice job Lou, pretttyyyy goood... applaud

Probably told him that if he improves next year he'd give him a better contract
