Probably one of the more realistic armchairs. I dig it. Well done.

first two trades aren't very good, everything else looks pretty decent though.

why are you just handing JP a 1st line role. What exactly has he done to earn that? Hell ZAR has shown more than him on the ice and you have him scratched? and for who, Simon on the 4th line? Since when does Simon play with any kind of grit to be a 4th line player? Since when is Simon even remotely as good at killing penalties as ZAR?

JJ will cost far less to dump as well. I think he is already traded, they are waiting for the LTIR to kick in on teams so they can move him.

I threw puljujarvi there because I feel like that’s the only place he’d reach his potential but that doesn’t mean he can’t be flipped on to the 3rd line in favor of Kahun or McCann being in the top 6. Simon being on that fourth line isn’t about grit at all he’s playing with Tanev because Tanev needs to play with good possession players and scoring chance generators in order to succeed. This is something we saw a lot whenever he played alongside Adam Lowry in WPG. I’m expecting ZAR to get consistent playing time throughout the season with injuries to other players and a rotation between him and Simon for that 4th line RW spot. Plus with having McCann, Bjugstad, Kahun, Tanev, and Blueger as penalty killing options they should be fine on nights that ZAR is in the press box.

Yeah I can see what you mean there because teams really shouldn’t be giving up much for Puljujarvi since the oilers don’t have a ton of leverage and none of us really know what a JJ cap dump would look like.

potential..... if the only place a player can "reach his potential" is being carried on his back by crosby he can go right to europe.
They have put bad wingers on lines and made crosby carry them for so long, it's sickening. There are plenty of other players on the team that are more deserving of being on that line. From McCann to Kahun who just got to the penguins and still is more deserving.
As far as Simon on a 4th line he has no business there. You throw your 4th line out there when your team needs some energy. They go out there, give a little push back, bang a bit, and open up some space.

This is a pretty poor analysis. If Sid can prop up JP with Guentzel still slinging 40 goals, that allows the Penguins to push depth down their lineup while still having an amazing first line, spreading talent throughout the forward lines.

It’s also a pretty piss poor analysis of how Sully uses his lines. He doesn’t occasionally throw out his 4th line. He likes to roll all 4 lines as often as a possible. Having skilled players on the 4th line is never a bad thing, restricting the 4th line to “bangers” is an archaic way of thinking.

yeah, no. I'm pretty sure the whole organization is tired of throwing anyone out there on sids wing and expecting him to carry them.
And yes, Sully does throw out his 4th line when he expects the to hit people. He sure as hell isn't throwing out the 1st and 2nd line to do that. God knows Kessel wasn't ever going to hit anyone! And the 1st line has had no size forever. The 3rd line had a little push, but you go look at the 4th line last year and the years before and explain to me how wilson was a regular. It sure as hell wasn't for skill.
So yeah, I'm pretty damn sure I know how he uses the 4th line, and it's not for "skill".
