No interest in Hamilton, if it's Pesce or Bean then maybe.

the Laine deal isn't bad for either team, if I'm Carolina, maybe try and squeeze E. Comrie out too

the 2021 2nd may need to be contingent on Dougie re-signing, if he doesn't becomes a 1st rd

If it's Pesce Winnipeg are adding more than Laine. This isn't great for either team

So trading one top 4 D and a prospect that's played a whopping 8 NHL games is 'losing half your core', exaggerate much?.. Lol

Trading your best offensive defenceman and your premier prospect for a 3rd liner is a bad deal kid....

If Canes fans like Pulju's potential to play well with his old pal Aho, I think McGinn would be a nice middle 6 add for the Oil. Better than Gauthier and a pick, even if Gauthier turns out well in a year or two, that is not what the Oil need. There is talk about a trade of Pulju for a prospect and a pick but, really, I don't see any point trading Pulju right now unless its a player we can plug in the top 9F. The oil can let him play and hopefully score well in Finland for a year, so replacing that with a prospect doesn't really help the Oil now or even next year unless that prospect becomes more than their current value all of a sudden this season.

To be honest about the situation, Pulju is completely ready for the NHL right now, its just whoever uses him just has to gamble that he will have chemistry/think the game the way his centreman is thinking it. If he does that his skill is top 6. If the chemistry isn't there, and he plays bottom 6, then he's probably your 12th or 13th forward since he's not going to thrive on a checking line.

The only centre he has ever shown star power with is Aho. So the risk on him makes most sense from a Canes perspective.

Alright I'm not a big fan of Laine personally, but he is a top line winger, even in his down year last season.

Yeah cause adding at least 30 goals doesn't help the offence at all.. Lol

Don't want Hamilton, it's Pesce or Bean or nothing.

He really isn't. He's a 3rd liner, he's just got a great shot. That is it

Well, you can have your opinion and try to back it up with anecdotal statements, but I’ll stick with the data that he has scored the 6th most goals in the league over the past 3 years which, amongst 31 teams with 2 first line wingers each, means he’s a first line winger.

No, he's a 3rd liner with a shot, when that shot isn't there, like last year for every single game not in November, he isn't a 30-40 goal scorer, he's too inconsistent he's too bad off the puck, his passing is horrific he isn't a player good enough for this tears of joy

Imagine thinking goals are everything. You wanna talk stats? Lets go bud. His x_GA is through the floor, his SA/60 is horrific his successful ZE% is horrifically low, his p% is through the floor. I'll stick to the stats he's a 3rd liner with a shot. You stick to your fanhood

Yep, he’s bad defensively. As I said in my first post here, I’m not a fan and think he’s overrated because of what he lacks overall compared to his flash. However, there are 62 top line wingers in the league. There is no way, if you told GM’s to draft wingers today to fill their lineups, that he is not in the top 62. Not every top line winger is going to be a perfect player, but one that can score 40 goals is in that group. I just hate seeing someone presented with a trade that is debatable make outlandish claims and think they have legitimacy on here (unless they are clearly joking...which i feel you aren’t).

I understand what you're saying mate. I do, but I'm not putting Laine on the top line over Svechnikov or Teravainen, so maybe 3rd liner was a little harsh. He's a second liner in Carolina. Albiet he's a great goal scorer yes, that's very well documented, but there is more to hockey than scoring goals. That's where Laine drops down for me. Maybe it is just me, but that's just the way I feel honestly about Laine. My point is this is too much for me here, knowing what little leverage that Winnipeg have right now, you can probably give up even less than this. You're one of the few sensible people I've come across on this website for a while, so I'll apologise for being blatantly rude with you, but this is just how I feel.

Obviously you haven't watched him much, he's an awesome passer, actually Laine was the setup man and Wheeler was the goal scorer when Laine was on the top line but hey make statements you know nothing about and trash the kid if it makes you feel better.

Kid.... I hate the Jets, I loved the thrashers, I know the damned ins and outs of every damn player on that team. Laine has a pass completion percentage of less than 65%. The league average is OVER 90% the dude isn't what you're making him out to be but, hey justify his value with complete mistatements to fit your naritive
