Love Ehlers but trading Brown right now would be the stupidest thing to do. And trading a 2020 1st is also dumb.

The sens have a log jam at the center position. Tierney, White, Anisimov, Batherson, Norris, Chaplik, and JGP. Brown still has the potential to become a top-six center but is less likely to than White, Batherson or Norris. Plus the 1st round pick is San jose's

Like you (I'm guessing) I fear Logan Brown isn't determined enough to improve his skating, and if he doesn't his odds of getting anywhere near his projected ceiling are greatly hindered. Stone had similar knocks on his skating but he spent his summers focussing on that weakness. That being said, OTT is years away from possibly contending so there's no real reason for trading prospects for established players, especially if that player isn't under OTT's control for the years that will actually matter. Until we're on the very brink of being legit we should just keep collecting young talent that we have complete control of for years to come.

Batherson is a winger, and as a sens fan who has followed these prospects since the moment they were drafted (I never really watched too much junior hockey until recently so I didn't really watch them before), I can confidently say that Brown will be better than any centre we currently have. Norris might have the potential to surpas him but I still see Brown as the best one. Either way, we need a top end talent in 2020 to either play with him or bump him down to 2C. But Brown is the best centre piece this team currently has

He's been working this summer. Looks deezed. I expect he'll play no more than 20 games in Belleville.

I was never concerned about how heavy or fit he was and deezed doesn't necessarily translate to faster and smoother skating. I still feel like Norris might have the best shot of the pivots who could make this team this season. He's got good speed, is great at face-offs, can kill penalties and it doesn't feel like we're crapping on his development to play him in the bottom 6. Anxious to see how this line up shakes out.
